ENPS - Communication

Global Learners and Leaders

Exceeding Expectations

Communication

At Essendon North Primary School, communication between home and school is paramount to ensure all members of the school community are informed and up to date with all aspects and components of school life. Communication is a shared responsibility and promotes a connection to the school and a sense of belonging to the community.

Compass

At Essendon North Primary School, Compass School Management System is the primary means of communicating important information between home and school. Through Compass parents can access student reports and learning updates, manage attendance, access news feeds, school events calendar and school policies and communicate with teachers and the school.

Parent Handbook

This handbook provides relevant information for parents about the school. This is provided to parents and carers in a digital format, via the iNewsletter platform.

Parent and Community Education and Information Sessions

These sessions are held for a number of purposes inclusive of informing and consulting with parents about school initiatives and programs and providing parents with education, information and strategies to support their children at home.

School Correspondence

Notes are sent home through Compass to provide parents/carers with details of specific school/year level programs and activities including camps, excursions and incursions. These are available as hard copies upon request.

Newsletters

Whole School: The school publishes a fortnightly community newsletter. These are sent out to each family through Compass, and include information on school events, classroom and specialist learning, important dates and updates on school
programs.
Learning Neighbourhoods: Each Team is responsible for sending home six unit of inquiry overviews per year, at the start of each unit of inquiry. These flyers
provide a snapshot of the learning that will take place throughout that unit of inquiry.

Assembly

A full school assembly is currently held each Friday afternoon on the school oval or in the gymnasium and all parents and carers are invited to join us. Important notices, ‘Student of the Week’ awards, class, sport and music items are often featured.
